ARTIST'S STATEMENT FOR UNBRIDLED

My most recent series of work entitled "Unbridled", completed in 2005 in Carmel Valley, CA, focused on strong women and wild horses. The series addresses the symbology of wild horses that have been bridled and reined in. This suppression of power is mirrored by woman's role in society.

The images concentrate upon the restoration of internal and external female energy-- the wisdom and power that is intrinsic to the feminine aspect of all life. As an artist and a woman, I tell a story of reclamation of inner territory and movement out into a world free of perceived limitations and boundaries.

"Unbridled" was shown at PK Fine Artifacts in Sand City, CA in April 2005 and again in August 2005. This series is a work in progress. Please stay tuned for further submissions.
